چکیده

this paper develops a model for distribution network expansion planning (dnep) considering reliability issues. with simultaneous switch placement and dnep, the proposed model tries to adequately consider the reliability issues in the planning stage in a way that the designed network has suitable performance from the reliability viewpoint. the reinforcement or installation of mv feeders and hv/mv substations has been regarded as the planning options. moreover, the distributed generation (dg) is taken into account as another alternative in the dnep. by considering the equipment’s installation and operation costs, the model seeks for an optimal combination of feeders, substations, dgs, and sectionalizing switches in order to reliably supply the loads of network in the horizon year with the minimum cost subject to the technical and operational constraints. in the developed model, the dg units are allowed to be operated in the islanding mode in order to enhance the network reliability. the presented approach has been modeled as an optimization problem where a ga-opf method is employed to solve it. several experiments have been set up to examine and justify capabilities of the proposed approach.

A Distribution Network Expansion Planning Model considering Distributed Generation Options and Techo-Economical Issues

This paper presents a dynamic multi-objective model for distribution network expansion, considering the distributed generations as non-wire solutions. The proposed model simultaneously optimizes two objectives namely, total costs and technical constraint satisfaction by finding the optimal schemes of sizing, placement and specially the dynamics (i.e., timing) of investments on DG units and/or n...

DCGA Based-Transmission Network Expansion Planning Considering Network Adequacy

Transmission network expansion planning (TNEP) is an important component of power system planning that its task is to minimize the network construction and operational cost while satisfying the demand increasing, imposed technical and economic conditions. Up till now, various methods have been presented to solve the static transmission network expansion planning (STNEP) problem. But in all of t...

Electricity Distribution Network Planning Considering Distributed Generation

One of EU’s actions against climate change is to meet 20% of our energy needs from renewable resources. Given that the renewable resources are becoming more economical to extract electricity from, this will result in that more and more distributed generation (DG) will be connected to power distribution. The increasing share of DG in the electricity networks implies both increased costs and bene...

Distribution expansion planning considering reliability and security of energy using modified PSO (Particle Swarm Optimization) algorithm

Distribution feeders and substations need to provide additional capacity to serve the growing electrical demand of customers without compromising the reliability of the electrical networks. Also, more control devices, such as DG (Distributed Generation) units are being integrated into distribution feeders. Distribution networks were not planned to host these intermittent generation units before...

Transmission Network Expansion Planning Considering Phase-Shifter Transformers

This paper presents a novel mathematical model for the transmission network expansion planning problem. Main idea is to consider phase-shifter (PS) transformers as a new element of the transmission system expansion together with other traditional components such as transmission lines and conventional transformers. In this way, PS are added in order to redistribute active power flows in the syst...
